“WOW, I love the acne on my face!!” ~ Said NO. ONE. EVER.
It’s true though. No one loves acne. Well except maybe the dermatologist that gest paid thousands of dollars to “help” you try and get rid of it by prescribing you expensive semi-effective antibiotics and/or medications. They like acne… BUT NO ONE ELSE DOES!
Not only does nobody like it but it is one of the biggest problems every one suffers with, right after global warming, poverty, and government corruption…OK so maybe it’s not that big of a problem in society but it is a big problem when it comes to self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-love. And when anything affect the way you see and feel about yourself, then that is a big problem.
But guess what, EVERYONE suffers with acne at least once in their life. Yes, that’s right, the prom king and queen get it at some point. It’s not just you.
However, with that said, some people are prone to acne more than others and there are certain factors that do contribute to acne breakouts and especially adult acne (because well, when we are adults with acne we can’t really blame it on the hormone because we aren’t going through the same hormonal changes that we where when we where in our teens). And the best part is, is that these factors are controllable through things like what we eat (dairy and sugar = acne breakouts) and how to take care of our skin on the outside (how and what we wash our face with).
In this blog, we are going to discuss the everyday skin care routine that you should do every day to achieve beautiful clear skin. And we are going to be using all natural and healthy ingredients.
So lets go ahead and get started…
#1: Black African Soap: To start off, you are going to wash your face with Black African Soap (BAS). This stuff is amazing. I literally can’t say enough good things about it. And once you start using it, you will come to love it just as much as I do. Plus, it’s all natural! So there are no added chemicals, stabilizers or ingredients that are harmful in this soap. BAS is becoming more and more popular so it’s becoming easier to find. But as you know I love to make it easy for you guys, so here are a few places where you can buy some BAS (links included): Amazon or Vitamin Shoppee
#2: Charcoal Sponge/Facial Scrubby: *This is an important step! DO NOT WASH WITH YOUR HANDS. I know this seems kind of a weird step, but believe me, it is important. Your hands are dirty and covered with germs. So having them wash your face is not going to help you get rid of your acne. Instead what you want to use is either a gentle facial scrubby or a charcoal sponge ( I have an inexpensive charcoal sponge. You can easily get this a Walmart or Amazon.) This will help clean out your skin while also drawing toxins to the surface of your skin so they can be removed.
#3: Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV): So me personally, I love this step because it really is one of the secrets to achieving acne free skin. Not only does it tone your skin, but it also gets deep into your pores where the blackheads and whiteheads live and eliminating them. Be aware there might be a slite burning sensation when you get the acne-prone areas of your face (ex. T zone, chin, nose & forehead). This is a good sign, it means that the ACV is working and cleaning out those pores. After you apply this step, make sure to let it dry completely before continuing on to the final step. You can get this at any local grocery store or again there is the Amazon? *Note: When you get the ACV, you want to make sure that you get the one that has “Mother” in it. This is good bacteria that your skin needs to get rid of the bad bacteria (bad bacteria also causes acne).
#4: Coconut Oil, YEAY! You made it to your final step. This is the part where you moisturize your beautiful face with….(drum roll please) Coconut Oil!!! This stuff is by far the best moisturizer I have ever used. Great for dry skin, oily skin and skin that needs a little bit more love after it’s had a long day in the sun. And as an added bonus, not only can you use coconut oil on your face but you can also use it for cooking!!!! That’s right, you get two birds with one stone (or however that saying goes). Now when you use it as a moisturizer, you really don’t need more than the size of a dime amount on your palm. That’s another good thing with coconut oil, is that a little goes a long way and spreads flawlessly. You can get coconut oil, honestly, anywhere Walmart, Target, Amazon, or your local grocery store.
Ta Da, that’s it. ? Super easy and simple.
Doing this routine, at least once a day (twice for best results) will help you achieve the skin and confidence you want.
Please note, that this is an everyday routine to do every day. There are other things like masks and exfoliates that I use once a week to help maintain that beautiful healthy glow and fight off the acne. I will do another blog post about this later. But for now, work on either adding this to your routine or changing your current skincare routine.
What happens when we win the fight over acne:
- We improve our self-confidence
- We build our self-esteem

- We scream VICTORY, you finally won the battle with acne!
- We are happier and wanting to be seen
- and much more
Also, if you really want to tackle acne at both ends and also remove some of the key acne causing ingredients that we eat, like dairy and sugar. Check out “Favorite Sugar Substitutes” Post Here. These are the best and healthiest sugar-free and refined sugar-free options I have found.
